چکیده
Abstract Background Greater trochanteric pain syndrome (GTPS) refers to and tenderness over the greater trochanter. It is a common entity of lateral hip that usually related overuse or small injuries gluteus medius minimus tendons their surrounding bursae. MRI favored modality for evaluation region disorders. Treatment options ranges from conservative surgical treatment. Results Trochanteric (sub-gluteal maximus) bursal fluid was most finding found in 55 hips (73%), followed by gluteal tendinosis (64%) partial thickness tendon tear (29%). Full occurred 10 (13%). The relation between statistically significant ( P < 0.05 ) with sensitivity specificity 85% 78% respectively. Conclusion should be utilized simple systemized approach MSK radiologist order not miss may influence outcome patient presenting GTPS.

Originally defined as "tenderness to palpation over the greater trochanter with the patient in the side-lying position," greater trochanteric pain syndrome (GTPS) as a clinical entity, has expanded to include a number of disorders of the lateral, peritrochanteric space of the hip, including trochanteric bursitis, tears of the gluteus medius and minimus and external coxa saltans (snapping hip). ...

Pain around the greater trochanter is still a common clinical problem that may be secondary to a variety of either intra-articular or periarticular pathologies. Gluteal tendon pathologies are one of the primary causes of greater trochanteric pain, with attrition of the fasciae latae against the gluteus medius and minimus tendons, and the trochanteric bursa being possible causes. Key sonographic...

reater trochanteric pain syndrome is a common condition that most commonly affects middle-aged and elderly women and potentially younger active male and female individuals.1 Symptoms include pain referable to the lateral hip as well as point tenderness that often interferes with activity and sleeping.2,3 Contrary to prior misconceptions that symptoms were due to underlying bursitis, it has been...
متن کاملGreater trochanteric pain syndrome. A report of 15 cases.
Fifteen patients with identical symptoms of pain and tenderness at the tip of the greater trochanter are reviewed. Diagnosis by the referring doctor was usually osteoarthritis of the hip or sciatica, but localised tenderness and pain on resisted abduction were the only clinical signs. Radiographs were usually normal. Most cases were relieved by one or more local steroid injections. This disorde...
متن کاملFactors Associated with the Outcome of Ultrasound-Guided Trochanteric Bursa Injection in Greater Trochanteric Pain Syndrome: A Retrospective Cohort Study.
BACKGROUND Trochanteric bursa injections of corticosteroids and local anesthetics have been shown to provide pain relief for the treatment of greater trochanteric pain syndrome (GTPS). However, symptom recurrence and incomplete symptom relief are common. The reason for the variation in response is unclear but may be related to disease-, treatment-, or patient-related factors. OBJECTIVE To det...
